The Journalism School to Marketing Pipeline

Like many of my fellow J-school graduates, I find myself in the marketing field. I'm a generalist, with the heart of a storyteller. Channels, tactics, and trends come and go but tried-and-true marketing practices remain. Retrofit those classic ideas with truthful storytelling, and you have a powerful means of connection. Marketing is a story of a product or service, and how/where/why/when its told creates meaning in the eyes of the buyer. That's my perspective. That is my passion.

The Business Aspect

My understanding of business fundamentals was gathered in practice. I've had the opportunity to apply that understanding in both professional and volunteer capacities. Through that application, I recognized the need or desire for marketing and/or operational planning support for professionals and small businesses. I am passionate about serving these pillars of the community. In the spirit of that mission, I obtained an MBA with a focus in Marketing Leadership. My goal is to work with folks to find clarity and optimize efficiency, so they can get back to what they do best - creating & producing.
